Weight Loss Program – Legal Disclaimer
The weight loss program offered by Treasure State Aesthetics may include the use of compounded semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. Compounded semaglutide is currently permitted for use by licensed compounding pharmacies pursuant to Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA), which allows compounding of certain medications when commercially manufactured alternatives are unavailable or in shortage, as determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
However, the availability and legality of compounded semaglutide are subject to change. If regulatory changes prohibit or restrict compounding of semaglutide, Treasure State Aesthetics will make all reasonable efforts to assist patients in transitioning to FDA-approved medications, such as Wegovy® or Zepbound™. This transition may include assistance with obtaining insurance approval. If such alternatives are not feasible or affordable, the patient’s participation in the weight loss program will be discontinued, and future billing will be canceled. No refunds will be provided for any prior fees paid.
Treasure State Aesthetics is committed to providing advance notice of any anticipated changes in medication availability as soon as such information becomes known. Patients will be informed of upcoming modifications to their treatment plan to ensure sufficient time to explore alternative options.
Upon patient request, Treasure State Aesthetics will assist in seeking insurance coverage for FDA-approved medications such as Wegovy® or Zepbound™. If insurance coverage is obtained, the cost of the weight loss program may be adjusted to reflect the revised scope of services. All adjustments will be communicated clearly prior to any changes taking effect.
By enrolling in the weight loss program, patients acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined above, including the potential discontinuation of compounded semaglutide and the associated effects on their treatment plan.
